At Kalon Prep Academy

Stories Matter.

We want our students to know that the community they live in is filled with people who care tremendously about them.

That’s why we will feature each of our donors and volunteers in a photo book titled: The School That Love Built.

We are extremely grateful for every dollar donated and minute worked to support our new school.

Why are we fundraising?

Monies received from the state of Minnesota cannot be used for renovation, which means we must rely on the generosity of our community. Additionally, charter schools cannot own property. Our leased site at 1877 Aga Drive is a great fit for our students and staff. It has four classrooms and several office spaces. The current warehouse space is perfect for adding a kitchen, gym, and lab space.

Funds for Food

Because Kalon does not have a commercial kitchen, our school does not qualify for the meal funding from the government. Thus, we rely on donations to feed all of our students breakfast, lunch, and snacks daily at no cost to them. This amount is $25,000 annually.

Non-profit groups and individual donors have graciously assisted by dropping off snack items and fresh fruit. We welcome anyone who feels compelled to help to do the same.
